Lumora Story
In a small village, there lived a water bearer who carried water every day from a distant stream to his master's house.
He used a long wooden pole that rested across his shoulders. On each end of the pole hung a clay pot.
One of the pots was perfect, smooth, strong, and flawless. It always delivered a full portion of water.
The other pot had a crack.
Every day, as the water bearer walked back home, the cracked pot leaked water slowly along the path.
By the time they reached the house, it was only half full.
For two years, this continued.
The perfect pot was proud of its work. It fulfilled its purpose completely, never losing a single drop.
But the cracked pot felt ashamed.
One day, it finally spoke.
I am sorry, the cracked pot said softly. Because of my flaw, you do not get full value from your efforts.
The water bearer smiled.
Have you noticed the flowers along the path? he asked.
The cracked pot was confused.
Look closely, the man said.
As they walked, the cracked pot saw something it had never truly paid attention to before.
On its side of the path, beautiful flowers bloomed, colorful, vibrant, alive.
On the other side, where the perfect pot hung, the ground was dry and empty.
The water bearer continued: I have always known about your crack. So I planted flower seeds along your side of the path.
And every day, as we walked back, you watered them.
For two years, you have helped grow this beautiful path of flowers.
I pick these flowers to decorate my home. Without you, this beauty would not exist.
The cracked pot was silent.
For the first time, it realized its weakness had created something beautiful.
